Indyref anniversary: The Dundee taxi drivers who did their bit for democracy
ByAlan Wilson
The legacy of the Scottish referendum a year on can be seen through the eyes of two Dundee taxi drivers in a new film produced in Dundee.
Taxi For Scotland features the thoughts of Wayne O’Hare and George Scullion who felt so strongly about the poll last year they introduced free taxi rides for voters struggling to get to polling stations on September 18 2014.
The short documentary was shot in the city by filmmaker Violetta Palak.
The 34-year-old, who is originally from Poland, said: “I love the sound of Dundonians talking about important issues.
“Scottish people talking passionately about things they’re very passionate.
“Wayne and George were so good. I couldn’t imagine two better subjects for this type of film.”
