Morecambe have a diminished number of central defenders for their Sky Bet League Two clash with Newport.
Shrimps boss Derek Adams will be without the suspended Ritchie Sutton following his red card at Plymouth, as he serves his one-match ban.
Fellow defender Samuel Lavelle is also ruled out due to a four-game ban which sidelines him until after Boxing Day.
Adams will hope to have Aaron Wildig and Andrew Tutte back after the pair missed the last game through illness.
The trip to Morecambe could come too soon for Newport’s Taylor Maloney.
The centre-back missed his side’s 1-1 draw with Stevenage on Saturday with mumps and could need longer to make a recovery.
Fellow defender Mickey Demetriou returned from a 17-week absence with a broken leg and played all 90 minutes on Saturday. He is fit, although manager Michael Flynn could choose to rest him ahead of the busy festive period.
Kyle Howkins, Ade Azeez, Daniel Leadbitter and Keanu Marsh-Brown are all expected to remain sidelined, adding to Flynn’s injury woes.
