Airdrie 1 Forfar 2: Campbell pep talk helps keep Loons top of table
ByThe Courier Reporter
New dad Mark Baxter praised boss Dick Campbell for the half-time pep talk which helped the Loons retain their place at the top of the table.
Gavin Swankie’s injury time strike sealed the points after Dale Hilson had cancelled out Jim Lister’s opener for the Diamonds.
And Baxter was delighted to play his part a week after missing the second half of the derby win over Brechin to attend the birth of his son Harris.
Baxter said: “It has been an exciting and busy week and it was good to get the 90 minutes and a win. All I can say is that the boss was on form at half-time. We needed it and it turned into a game of two halves.
“We scored goals at good times as the equaliser gave us time to get a winner. Our mentality is strong in the squad and hopefully we will continue to do well.”
