Brechin 3 Morton 1: City climb above rivals with win

Brechin climbed above Morton on goal difference and into fourth place in League One with a 3-1 victory.

Alan Trouten gave City the lead from the penalty spot after nine minutes and Robert Thomson made it two with a tap-in after the half-hour mark.

Brechin scored again on 61 minutes when Kyle McAusland slotted home.

Morton gave themselves a glimmer of hope on 68 minutes when Tony O’Ware popped up on the back post and volleyed in off the bar.
