Hearts kid Liam Smith in East Fife manager’s plans

East Fife boss Gary Naysmith is to ask Hearts head coach Robbie Neilson if he can field on-loan Tynecastle kid Liam Smith in their third round William Hill Scottish Cup tie with Berwick Rangers.

The 18-year-old joined the Fifers on loan in August until January.

The Bayview manager said: “I will ask Robbie about the next round, as playing in the cup will be great development for Liam.

“He has fitted in well here, and if I could get him for the tie against Berwick that would be a great.”
