Dunfermline have secured the services of former Rangers and Scotland goalkeeper Andy Goram as their new goalkeeping coach.
The 50-year-old has a wealth of experience and was capped 43 times for Scotland in his playing career, making a name for himself in his seven years or so at Ibrox.
Pars boss John Potter had been looking for a new goalkeeping coach after his brother Brian left to take up a similar role at Hamilton, and he admits he believes Goram is the right man for the job.
“I was prepared to wait for the right man,” he said.
“I did not want to change everything around for our keepers Ryan Scully and Ryan Goodfellow, Brian spoke to him and thinks that he will be very good for us.
“Neil McCann went to speak to him on Sunday and he was very excited about coming in.
“I spoke to him a couple of times this week and it was all agreed.”
Potter revealed that Goram, who has coached at the likes of Motherwell, Airdrie, Clyde, Hamilton and Ayr since retiring from playing, will be involved for two or three days each week plus match days.
“He is happy with that and wants to work with the goalies we have got.” Potter added.
“He is excited to come to a full time club and he has a wealth of knowledge that will help out in other areas as well.”
