Comeback man Tony Bullock prays his outing against Queen of the South wasn’t a one-off and that he’ll have the opportunity to face former club Ross County this weekend.
The match comes as Dundee again try to halt the slump which threatens to end their First Division title bid.
The Dark Blues have taken just three points from their last four league matches and now lead second-placed Inverness by a single point.
As much of a concern is that County could, by virtue of their games in hand, replace Gordon Chisholm’s side at the head of affairs.
That would make winning Saturday’s Victoria Park clash all the more vital for Dundee.
Bullock is eager to feature again after taking over between the sticks on Tuesday night after Douglas finally gave in to knee and Achilles injuries.
“Big Rab has been carrying an injury for a while and now I’ve finally got my chance again,” he said.
“Hopefully I can stay in the side because Saturday is a game I’d really like to play in.
“Ross County are coming off a massive result, and very well done to them for reaching their first Scottish Cup semi-final, but we have to go up there now and show what we are made of.
“The most disappointing thing against Queen of the South was that we weren’t professional enough.
“One nil up against 10 men, we should have killed the game.
“Instead, we give away a sloppy free-kick — something we’ve been doing of late — and Bob Harris comes up with a fantastic finish.”
He added, “We’ve got to eradicate that sort of thing from our play.
“We have an abundance of talent going forward. We just need to start recording some clean sheets.
“We also have to find that we bit of confidence that we are lacking at the moment.”
