Pars boss Jim McIntyre is reflecting on missed chances that cost his side dearly against Partick Thistle.
Dunfermline looked like maintaining their recent succession of results at the hands of the struggling Glasgow outfit, but a series of scorned opportunities led to a home defeat to the Jags.
And the former Dundee United forward highlighted the importance of putting chances away when a team is on top.
“When chances present themselves at crucial periods of the game you have to take them,” he said.
“Ross Campbell had a clear cut one when it was 1-1 and you have to score on these occasions. Nick Phinn had two or three efforts where we maybe could have done better but we didn’t put them in.
“I thought we created enough, but we weren’t clinical.”
The Pars misery was worsened by an injury to David Graham who pulled up after suffering a hamstring injury.
“It’s a big blow and a hard one to take as we were struggling to field a subs bench against Thistle,” he added.
“We were really down to the bare bones so we’ll need to assess things over the next couple of days.”
McIntyre added that he hopes to have Alex Burke and fellow midfielder Graham Holmes back in contention for Saturday’s match away to Queen of the South.
Dunfermline will also have Willie Gibson back from suspension for that game but Steven Bell will drop out due to the same reason.
