Dundee United chairman Stephen Thompson is braced for having to fend off approaches for several of his club’s top performers.
But he insists the team that is on course to make this United’s best season in years won’t be broken up and that no-one will be allowed to leave unless there’s appropriate compensation.
Middlesbrough boss Gordon Strachan is reported to be eyeing a summer move for midfielder Morgaro Gomis and winger Craig Conway while Birmingham are being credited with taking an interest in Garry Kenneth.
But Thompson is relaxed about the speculation.
“I think a lot of our players will be linked with other clubs over the next few months because that’s what happens when you are doing well,” he said.
“There’s nothing you can do about it and it’s certainly not something we’re concerned about. We’re in a cup final and are fighting for third place so that’s all anyone is thinking about.
“If we do get approaches in the summer we’ll deal with it then but one thing is for sure, nobody will go on the cheap.
“We have built a good team here and want to move forward again so we don’t want to lose anyone.”
