Dundee boss Gordon Chisholm has insisted anyone casting covetous eyes over the club’s star striker Leigh Griffiths is wasting their time.
The Dark Blues bought the 19-year-old from Livingston for £115,000, and he has repaid the club with 19 goals in all competitions this season.
That striking form has once again brought him to the attention of St Johnstone boss Derek McInnes, who is a long-time admirer of the player.
Saints missed out on the Scotland under-21 star last summer and are understood to be keen to snare him second time around.
However, Chisholm, currently in England eyeing up potential signing targets of his own, is adamant Griffiths will be at Dens to spearhead next season’s title challenge.
“Leigh is going nowhere,” he said. “He is our top scorer this season and a boy full of potential, so we are looking forward to working with him next season.
“I am trying to build something at this club and to do that you do not let your best players go.”
