Dunfermline Athletic defender Ryan Williamson came through his long-awaited return to action unscathed in midweek, and could well come into contention for a place in the squad this weekend.
The Pars would have been delighted to see the 18-year-old play his first game for around three months on Tuesday evening, and boss John Potter will have been impressed with his contribution.
Williamson has been sidelined since dislocating his knee cap in November but continued on the comeback trail by playing the full 90 minutes in a 0-0 draw at Kilmarnock.
Potter will assess the defender’s reaction in training over the next few days and weigh up whether or not to include him in the squad for Saturday’s trip to Forfar, but striker Andy Barrowman who coached the Under 20s on Tuesday night reckons it looked like he had never been away.
“Obviously he’s been out for a wee while but you couldn’t have told because he was up and down that wing,” he said.
“Sometimes you wanted to rein him in a bit but I thought he did well for his first game back and that will stand him in good stead.
“He’ll definitely come into the gaffer’s plans in the next week or so.”
