On-loan St Johnstone midfielder Jamie Adams has pledged to do all he can to help Dundee’s survival bid.
The Dark Blues’ plunge into administration looked to have brought Adams’ stint at Dens to an end.
But a deal was struck with Saints allowing him to see out his loan until January.
The former Queen of the South player has promised to make as big a contribution as he can over the coming weeks.
“I went back to Saints to train for a few days last week and it looked like my time at Dens was over,” he said.
“But the teams managed to sort something out and I’m delighted to remain here.
“Despite all the problems facing the club I’ve enjoyed my time with Dundee.
“I came to the club for games and got eight on the spin.
“It’s hard to break into St Johnstone’s midfield at the moment.Hopeful”But if I can continue on my run here I’m hopeful of returning to Perth in the New Year ready to challenge for a place.
“After coming back from a long-term injury at Queen of the South last year I was dogged by a series of small, niggling injuries which hindered my progress.
“I really needed a run of matches to get fully up to speed again and coming to Dundee has got me that.
“I’m grateful for what the club has done for me and, although I’ve only been here a short time, I do feel an affinity for them.
“The period since we went into administration has been characterised by everyone pulling together, and that includes me.
“The fans, the players, the management are all doing their best.
“And I really hope the points penalty which looks to be coming our way leaves Dundee with a realistic chance of staying up.
“It would be silly to impose a crazy deduction that left us with no opportunity of avoiding relegation and effectively ending our season.
“I’d hate to be going back to St Johnstone with this club struggling.
“I want to do my best for Dundee and when the time comes leave them in decent shape.
“Ideally I’d like to see someone with money coming in and sorting out the finances here and the SFL acting in a way which gives Dundee realistic hope of finishing mid-table in the First Division.”
The Dark Blues are set to list David Witteveen on the bench.
