St Johnstone boss Derek McInnes has paid tribute to long-serving club physio Nick Summersgill, who is leaving McDiarmid Park to take up a new post.
Summersgill has tended to the Saints players since 1998 after previously working with rugby league and union sides.
Now, St Johnstone’s Scottish Cup tie at Hearts on Sunday will mark the end of his tenure in the job.
McInnes said, “He has been here a long time and he works really, really hard he probably puts more hours in than anybody.
“I would like to wish him and his family all the best and good luck in his new job.”
He added, “We have been actively trying to recruit another physio and we hope to make an announcement on that soon.”
Meanwhile, McInnes is confident he will have Steven Anderson available for selection for the cup tie after the defender made a quick recovery from a knock he suffered against Inverness last Saturday.
He said, “Ando picked up a bang on his hip at the weekend but he should be able to resume training.
“Jamie Adams has a slight ankle knock but we hope he will also be okay for Sunday.”
He added, “Kevin Moon will join in the warm-ups this week and we will hopefully get him back to full training soon.
“Kevin Rutkiewicz should start training again next week while Graham Gartland and Graeme Smith played in a bounce game on Tuesday and came through it fine.”
