Raith Rovers have been boosted with the news that defender Dougie Hill has returned to full training after a stop-start recovery from injury.
The 25-year-old broke his ankle in a reserve clash against Dunfermline at the end of August and has been away from first-team action since.
Niggling injuries have ultimately prevented him from fully returning to the fold in recent weeks.
Despite that, Hill is back training with the squad and is likely to feature in a few more reserve games to sharpen up before being considered for a return by manager John McGlynn.
However, Hill has a battle on his hands to get back into the first team given the performances from Rovers of late.
McGlynn has hinted he is again likely to field a largely unchanged side for Saturday’s visit to Stirling after his starting 11 impressed in the 2-1 derby win over Dunfermline on Sunday.
He said, “The players on the fringes know that it’s fairly simple.
“If the team’s doing well you can’t argue.
“Mark Campbell couldn’t get back in the team because Grant Murray and Laurie Ellis were doing particularly well.”
He added, “Craig Wilson got a sickness bug. That opened the door for Mark, he’s grasped his chance.
“Now Craig finds himself very unfortunate to be out of the team.
“That’s been my philosophy since the day I came here.”
Meanwhile, striker Gary Wales is also expected to take part in full training after recovering from a thigh strain.
