Dundee United director Derek Robertson has formally resigned from the Tannadice board.
Robertson previously retired from his duties as communications director a year ago but returned to assist with the additional workload in the lead-up to the Scottish Cup final.
“It has been a great privilege to serve Dundee United, especially in the centenary season which culminated in an unforgettable silver-kissed day in May,” he said.
“I am immensely proud of the huge strides made in the communications since 2002 and would pay tribute to all of the hard-working staff and volunteers who made these possible.”
He added, “I have made many close friends at the club and within the support over the last eight years or so, and it will be a great wrench not to be involved as much.
“However, I will always be available to assist the club whenever requested to do so.”
Tangerines chairman Stephen Thompson expressed his gratitude to Robertson, who will continue to attend matches, for his service to United.
He said, “We would all like to thank Derek for his valuable assistance over the years and know that we can call upon him from time to time in the future should it be necessary.”
