St Johnstone chief Brown denies McInnes/Bristol City link

St Johnstone chairman Geoff Brown has still had no contact from Bristol City regarding Derek McInnes, and he doesn’t expect any.
It has been speculated that the Perth boss is on the shortlist for the vacant manager’s post at Ashton Gate in the wake of Keith Millen’s sacking over a week ago.
It is understood that several contenders have already been interviewed by Bristol chairman Colin Sextone, with former Falkirk and Hibs manager John Hughes among them.
However, Brown insisted that he has not received an approach for McInnes, who is the only man currently in a job believed to be on Sextone’s radar.
He said: “Nobody has been in touch with me.
“They would know that to officially interview Derek compensation would have to be agreed.
“Everyone has their own ideas but I would have thought that if you were in Bristol’s position you would want someone who knows their division and knows the players available.”
