Dundee’s Jake Hyde has been given the all-clear after undergoing a CAT scan on a head injury.
The Dens Park striker was still suffering from headaches over a week after clashing with Morton keeper Dominic Cervi, but has been given the green light from the medics to face Falkirk this weekend.
Dark Blues boss Barry Smith said: ”It’s good news because you never want to take any chances with something like that. He’s back training so is now building himself up for the weekend.”
Smith has pledged his Dundee players will be determined to make amends for last season’s Scottish Cup disappointment against Motherwell when Kilmarnock are the visitors in the New Year.
The fourth-round draw has given them a clash with SPL opposition at Dens for the second season running and Smith believes the Dundee men have the perfect incentive to put on a good performance.
He said: ”After last season the boys were a bit disappointed with the way they played against Motherwell. Now I’m sure they’ll want to give a better account of themselves.
”We just didn’t get going against Motherwell that day and losing the early goal didn’t really help matters. Killie are a good SPL side so they’ll be the team expected to win.
”There will be no pressure on us. We can enjoy going out to play them as we don’t get the chance to play SPL teams often.”
