St Johnstone defender Steven Anderson is rated doubtful for the trip to face Aberdeen on Sunday.
He was forced out of the 2-1 Scottish Cup replay defeat by Hearts in extra-time with a knee injury.
Assistant manager Tommy Wright reported: ”It looks like Steven has strained a medial ligament so he will be assessed again in the next 24 hours.”
There was more positive news on left-back Callum Davidson, who should make the Pittodrie clash after sitting out the Hearts tie to protect a hamstring.
Stand-in Alan Maybury suffered cramp in extra-time after featuring at the centre of a controversial last-gasp penalty equaliser which threw Hearts a lifeline.
Wright said Saints had to put their cup woes behind them and focus on Aberdeen.
He noted: ”We got total effort from the players and they responded the way we wanted after the defeat from Dundee United at the weekend. We didn’t get the luck you need in any cup tie.
”I don’t think the referee could have been 100% convinced in signalling the penalty but we have to respect it was an honest decision and move on.
”Now we have another important game looming on Sunday.”
