Dundee United have been given assurances by Rangers’ administrators Duff and Phelps that they will receive ticket money for the game against the Old Firm side at Tannadice on March 17.
United have been contacted by accountants Paul Clark and David Whitehouse to work out a timetable for paying.
The Tangerines will receive most of the cash due before the match with the outstanding balance being released from the administrators’ own bank account 72 hours later.
Clark and Whitehouse have a legal duty to ensure that all bills are paid so are working with clubs to resolve ticketing issues.
It is understood Motherwell will receive a similar offer before their match on March 31.
A United spokesman confirmed they have reached an agreement with Duff and Phelps, saying: ”We have had positive discussions with Rangers’ administrators about tickets for the game on March 17. We are comfortable with the situation and are looking forward to the game.”
Meanwhile, Polish goalkeeper Radoslaw Cierzniak, who has signed a two-year pre-contract deal with United, has joined his country’s oldest club, KS Cracovia, on a short-term deal after passing a medical.
The 28-year-old will replace Dusan Pernis at Tannadice but, after his contract with Cypriot Alki Larnaca ended last month, he was keen to remain active and now he’ll attempt to help Cracovia win their battle against relegation from Poland’s top flight.
