SFA send warning to Rangers’ administrators over cash owed to Dundee United
ByNews reporter
The SFA have finally acted decisively with regards to the £100,000 due to Dundee United from Rangers.
The Tangerines should have received the cash as their share of ticket money from the Scottish Cup fifth-round tie at Ibrox on February 5.
United had approached the governing body, who run the tournament, for assistance but had been left frustrated by the lack of progress being made.
However, on Thursday SFA chief executive Stewart Regan as part of a larger statement regarding Rangers and owner Craig Whyte said: ”We have sent a letter to the Rangers administrators, Duff and Phelps, advising them that failure to pay monies owed to another member constitutes a breach of the cup competition rules.
”Consequently, the club faces disciplinary action unless they make payments due to Dundee United from their recent William Hill Scottish Cup tie. A notice of complaint has been issued to that effect.”
A date of Thursday March 29 has been set for the disciplinary hearing.
