Dundee boss Barry Smith hopes his players can bring Falkirk back down to earth after their Challenge Cup win.
The Bairns lifted the lower leagues’ trophy by beating Hamilton and will visit Dens Park for a clash that will play a big part in settling who finishes second in the First Division.
Smith said: ”We want to finish the season as strongly as possible and maintain a good run until the end of the season.
”Falkirk will be on a high after winning the cup last weekend so they’ll be full of confidence.
”But we are in decent form ourselves so it should be a good game.”
Winger Nicky Riley has ben back in full training for a few weeks but is unlikely to be risked, while defender Neil McGregor is out.
Smith noted: ”Nicky has trained again on Thursday and is coming along fine.
”But we won’t be rushing him because it’s best we’re careful.
”Neil McGregor has a calf strain so he will miss the Falkirk game.”
Meanwhile, Dundee’s board of directors yesterday published the latest set of key performance indicators as well as the club’s financial statements for the year ending July 31 2011.
The following results were reported:
The percentage of player’ wages to turnover ratio was 39.1%, although this will rise as the season progresses, as the only significant revenue thereafter will be gate receipts and hospitality.
All other KPIs were achieved 95% of trade creditors due, excluding player debt and administrator’s fees, paid within 30 days; confirmation that projected cash flow shows a positive position at season end; confirmation of no debt to HMRC, ie all outstanding PAYE and NI liabilities and VAT liabilities are up to date; confirmation of no bank debt.
The board confirmed the club’s financial statements for the year ending July 31 2011 have been filed in line with deadlines set as part of the SFA’s licensing criteria and the procedure for application by SPL candidate clubs, and can be downloaded on the club and supporters’ society websites.
