Loan signing Peter Pawlett gives St Johnstone ‘another option’

St Johnstone have signed Aberdeen winger Peter Pawlett on loan until the beginning of January.
The 21-year-old Hull-born player came on as a substitute during the Dons’ 2-0 extra-time win over Morton in the Scottish Communities League Cup on Wednesday night but manager Craig Brown is keen for the wide player to sample more first-team experience.
The Scotland Under-21 international made his Aberdeen debut in May 2009 and has made 63 first-team appearances despite being hit by injury problems last season.
Perth manager Steve Lomas said: ”We’re delighted to bring Peter to McDiarmid until January. He’s a young player who I think has a promising future ahead of him and hopefully for him and us he can have a successful spell here.
”We’ve been short in wide areas and he’ll give us another option there.”
Pawlett will come straight into contention for a Saints debut at Hearts on Saturday, with regular wide midfielder Chris Millar ruled out through injury.
