With Dunfermline’s title rivals Falkirk and Raith Rovers at home to the two teams at the bottom of the first division this weekend, the Pars’ trip to Queen of the South would appear to be the hardest test for the three promotion hopefuls.
Pars boss Jim McIntyre has got tunnel vision for the run-in, however, and doesn’t want to get caught up in what may or may not happen at Stark’s Park or the Falkirk Stadium.
“I’ve learned not to expect anything in this league,” he said.
“Just look at Stirling the other night. They got a great point at Queen of the South. All I know is that you have just got to concentrate on your own games.”
The postponement of Dunfermline’s match against Ross County last weekend gave McIntyre the chance to check out tomorrow’s opponents in person. He was certainly impressed by what he saw.
The East End Park manager said, “Queens were really good and won 4-0 at Morton. That’s a fantastic result. Not many teams go to Cappielow and win by that margin.
“By all accounts they were good again in midweek against Stirling but just couldn’t put the ball away.
“They’ve got players in form such as Allan Johnston, Rocco Quinn and Willie McLaren, so we know we’re in for a tough afternoon.”
