Former Dundee goalkeeper Derek Soutar has wasted little time in fixing up his future after departing Dens Park this week.
Soutar has signed a two-year deal with Cypriot side APEP Pitsilia.
Pitsilia boss Stephen Constantine watched the former Scotland under-21 man in a bounce game recently and has now pursued his interest.
Soutar will move to Cyprus with his family in June to prepare for the new season, joining fellow ex-Dundee man Mark Fotheringham, who is playing for Anorthosis Famagusta.
“I am absolutely delighted to get something tied up so quickly and it’s a fantastic opportunity,” he said.
“The manager came over to watch me and was really keen to take me over there so I jumped at the chance.
“The standard in Cyprus is very good and it is getting better all the time so I am looking forward to it. It is a fresh start and a change of lifestyle for my family.
“The only thing is that I am fair skinned, so I will need plenty of suntan lotion all year round!”
Meanwhile, Dundee are understood to have joined Hamilton Accies in a chase to land Stirling Albion defender Andy Graham.
The 26-year-old has caught the eye after helping Albion pip Alloa on goal difference to land the second division title and is a free agent this summer.
Graham, at Forthbank since 2005, has been a virtual ever-present at centre-half this term with his attitude and commitment never in question.
SPL outfit Accies and the first division runners-up are now set to fight it out for Graham’s signature, with Albion boss Allan Moore struggling to hold on to him.
The Dark Blues have also been linked with Ross County midfielder Michael Gardyne and Queen of the South defender Bob Harris.
