Hampden likely to be bursting with fans for Scottish Cup final

A magnificent effort by both sets of supporters has ensured there will be a bumper crowd at Hampden when Dundee United take on Ross County in the Active Nation Scottish Cup final.
The Tangerine army is set to fill more than half of the national stadium a week on Saturday, with a final batch of upper-tier tickets arriving for sale at the club shop today.
That will be the Tannadice club’s last allocation and if, as expected, they are snapped up then United will be backed by 26,600 on the big day.
Business has also been remarkably brisk up at Dingwall, with the Staggies now expecting to shift 16,000 before the match.
When you add in debenture scheme members, sponsors, hospitality and the rest, then it seems likely that Hampden will be close to its 52,103 capacity.
Colin Banks, marketing manager for the SFA, said, “It is the final that has caught the attention of football fans everywhere.
“The current sales are a reflection of loyalty shown to the clubs by the supporters and their communities at large.”
