While everyone associated with Raith Rovers will no doubt have one eye on goings-on at East End Park tonight, manager John McGlynn has insisted his side’s main focus will be on preparing for Partick Thistle this weekend.
Rovers strengthened their position on top of the first division at the weekend when they won at Queen of the South and chasing rivals Dunfermline and Falkirk both faltered.
But while a further Pars slip at home to Ross County this evening would be music to the ears of the Kirkcaldy faithful, McGlynn has urged his players to continue to concentrate on what they do rather than look to results elsewhere.
“There are still 11 games to go and anything can happen,” he said. “Nothing gets handed out in the first week of March.
“I am not really interested in results elsewhere because it is all about doing your own job.”
McGlynn’s men certainly did their own job at Palmerston on Saturday, running out convincing 2-0 winners in the end to extend their advantage at the top of the table.
McGlynn added, “I was pleased with the performance as it is always a difficult place to get a result.”
Raith sit six points clear of second-placed Dunfermline, although the Pars will play the game they have in hand over Rovers tonight.
Next up for Rovers is Partick Thistle at home on Saturday, with midfielder Iain Davidson expected to be available for selection again after a two-match ban.
