Ross County manager Derek Adams is confident his players won’t be overwhelmed by cup final day, writes Ian Roache.
The Dingwall men go into the final as underdogs, with some even suggesting they had their day in the sun when they beat Celtic in the semi-final.
United have more big-match experience than the Highlanders, but Adams doesn’t believe nerves will be a problem.
“It is going to be a tremendous day for Ross County FC,” he said.
“The players have done very well this season, both in the league and during this tremendous cup run.
“I think if they were going to be overwhelmed by the occasion that would have happened in the semi-final against Celtic.
“Instead, they went out and passed the ball very well and kept possession for long periods in the game.
“I wasn’t surprised by how well they performed that day. They will have to do the same against United on Saturday, but they are in a great mood and looking forward to the final.”
That victory over the Hoops and the win over Hibs that preceded it have ensured United will know what to expect from them.
However, Adams countered, “I have watched them a number of times recently and had reports from the last four or five games.
“Raith performed very well against them in the first half of their semi-final — they provided stubborn opposition. But United are a good side that finished third in the premier league and have quality players throughout their team.”
