There is no champagne on ice as might be the case elsewhere in the county, but the second division aspect of Super Saturday in Angus will be just as tense an affair.
Brechin and Forfar meet at Glebe Park, each vying for the highest play-off finishing spot possible.
The Loons may have leapfrogged their derby rivals as the campaign ends, but Station Park assistant boss Ian Campbell knows nothing is certain until the final whistle blows.
“I would say all credit to both teams for getting themselves into the position they are, but absolutely nothing’s been done yet,” said Campbell.
“We’ve kind of steadied the ship a bit, which is a good thing, but we know we’re going into a hard game on a difficult pitch.”
“I hope it will be a great game and I hope that there will be a good crowd there because it’s fabulous for football in the area.”
Campbell added, “Dick and I are going back to a place we obviously know well and we’ve obviously got a lot of respect for the people there, but we are there to try and win the game.
“Whatever is happening to them at the minute doesn’t matter to us. It is about making sure we get our act together and do the job.”
That job will have to be done without on-loan Rangers keeper Scott Gallacher, so Neil Duffy will continue his deputy role and there are also doubts over Paul McQuade and David Mowat.
City assistant Kevin McGowne knows Brechin must banish the memory of a late triumph for today’s visitors in the last derby clash.
“We’re in a disappointing run of games, but we’ve made it that way for ourselves so every game puts additional pressure on,” he said.
“We’ve had so many opportunities to get results and we’re making it difficult for ourselves, but it’s another game against a Forfar side who we know and who we have done well against this season.
“In the last game we were looking comfortable but they showed they’ve got a bit of spirit about them so we know exactly what to expect.
“Tomorrow’s about only us and, at this stage, getting the points, however you do that. What we mustn’t do is give the likes of Airdrie any more lifelines and make things even more difficult for ourselves.
“If we win and Airdrie win it goes to another week, but that’s the way it is so first and foremost we have to deal with Forfar.”
Gerry McLauchlan is rated 50/50 for the hosts after missing the midweek defeat to East Fife.
Brechin will also be without suspended Rory McAllister and Ewan Moyes.
