Brechin City dealings not finished as Buist and McManus sign up

Close season signing numbers eight and nine have been completed by Brechin City, with striker Paul McManus and defender Scott Buist joining up at Glebe Park.

Former Raith Rovers and East Fife frontman McManus and Stirling Albion’s Buist have both agreed one-year deals.

Buist rejected an offer to stay with Jocky Scott’s men, while McManus has decided to return to Scotland after a brief spell in Malta.

That leaves Brechin boss Jim Weir one player short of the 18-man squad he is looking to assemble.

He said, “I’m delighted with the business we’ve managed to do.

“Both Paul and Scott are proven at this level and we believe they will be real assets for us next season.”
