A 25-yard strike from Paul McLean in the dying minutes of Brechin’s game at Airdrie United earned Jim Weir’s side a valuable point as they continue to push for promotion.
The Glebe Park side found themselves a goal down just after the restart when a close-range Andy Ferguson strike put the home team ahead at Excelsior Stadium.
However, a low shot from Neil Janczyk ensured the visitors were back on level terms just minutes later only for them to fall behind again almost immediately after Eddie Forrest headed a corner into the back of the net.
Weir admitted his men had been lucky to take a point back to Angus, going as far as saying they “didn’t deserve” a share of the spoils.
However, he added, “It could turn into a massive point at the end of the season and while the boys worked hard to get level, we were second best today.
