Danijel Subotic given chance to impress on St Johnstone’s Republic of Ireland trip

St Johnstone will take striker Danijel Subotic with them on their pre-season trip to the Republic of Ireland.
The Perth men fly out to Dublin today and face Drogheda United on Thursday night before meeting University College, Dublin on Sunday.
Subotic (22), a naturalised Swiss of Serbian descent, showed up well in the first of the club’s summer friendlies against Arbroath on Monday.
Manager Derek McInnes wants to see the former Portsmouth frontman in action again before deciding if he is worth a deal and the Irish tour will give him that opportunity.
It is understood, however, that the other trialist who started against the Lichties at Gayfield, former Airdrie United winger Graeme Owens, has been told Saints won’t be pursuing their interest in him.
