East Fife v Elgin City: Fifers prepare to face Elgin again
ByNews reporter
East Fife welcome Elgin City to New Bayview for a second time even this early in the season, having beaten them in the Scottish Communities League Cup.
The Fifers may have taken the honours that time but it is Elgin who will come into Tuesday’s game on a high after winning 4-1 against Berwick Rangers in the league on Saturday.
John Robertson’s men, by contrast, went down to a single-goal defeat at Stirling Albion.
The home side hope to have keeper Michael Brown available, with Mark Ridgers away on Scotland under-21 duty, but they will be without striker Rob Ogleby who is away with the Welsh under-21s.
“It is perhaps an unusual situation for a club like ours to have people away on international duty,” said Robertson.
“It is great for them and an honour but it does make my job harder, especially when you can’t play trialists in the cup.”
