Dunfermline boss Jim McIntyre has revealed that Pat Clarke has been told he is free to find another club.
The striker, who was signed from Dundee in July last year, has recently fallen down the front-line pecking order at East End Park.
However, the 26-year-old has informed his manager that he is not ready to give up on his Dunfermline career just yet.
McIntyre said, “We have told Pat that we would not stand in his way if another club came in for him. He can go but Pat is determined to stay and fight for his place.
“His attitude has been excellent but we just feel there are too many strikers in front of him at the club.”
McIntyre’s squad are gearing up for the SPL visit of Inverness on Saturday and have been boosted by the fact that they did not pick up any new injuries during their league cup game against Annan last weekend.
