A capacity crowd has been confidently predicted when Hearts host Raith Rovers on Saturday, November 8.
The match will be a poignant affair on Remembrance Weekend as both clubs mark the centenary of McCrae’s Battalion, with a special tribute planned to the former players who helped form the battalion in 1914.
The game is all ticket, but both clubs have revealed that ticket sales are going well and Tynecastle is expected to be packed for the much-anticipated date in the diary.
Raith have already revealed they will be playing in a one-off kit dedicated to the memory of those from Stark’s Park who went to war 100 years ago, while Hearts have now confirmed that they too will be wearing a commemorative shirt that features a poppy embroidered in the centre accompanied by the words We Will Remember Them.
Rovers fans can purchase tickets between 2pm and 7.30pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, while supporters can also buy briefs over the phone by calling 01592 263514 between those times.
Meanwhile, Raith look set to be without strikers Christian Nade and Calum Elliot for this weekend’s home game against Alloa due to injury.
Defender Laurie Ellis also picked up a knock in last weekend’s 6-1 loss to Rangers and is said to be doubtful for Saturday.
