Raith Rovers defender Craig Barr on road to recovery

Raith Rovers defender Craig Barr could be contention for a first team place within a matter of weeks as he continues on the long road to recovery.
The 27-year-old had hoped to make a name for himself at Stark’s Park after signing in the summer but a knee injury in pre-season prevented him from making his Championship debut.
Indeed, a scan revealed that fragments of bone inside his left knee required an operation which has seen him sidelined ever since.
However, Barr returned to light training a couple of weeks ago and is now in line to play some Development League and bounce fixtures in preparation for a return.
“He’s been involved in training but we didn’t want to rush him back it has to be right for him,” explained boss Grant Murray.
“It’s all about getting him game time but hopefully Craig will take a big step forward this month.”
Goalkeeper Kevin Cuthbert is also said to be progressing well as he continues his recovery from shoulder surgery.
