Ryan Wallace return is one positive for Dunfermline
ByThe Courier Reporter
Dunfermline manager John Potter has hailed the return of striker Ryan Wallace after a nine-month battle for fitness.
The 24-year-old was an 80th-minute substitute as Potter marked his managerial debut with a 1-0 defeat at home to promotion rivals Stranraer on Saturday.
With an hour under his belt for the under-20s last week, Wallace was handed a 10 minute run-out against Stranraer and his performance was one positive for the club after a third straight defeat.
Potter said: “Ryan was sharp when he came on. He was just on his way back but he has that bit of quality around about the goal. If we can get him back to full fitness he will score goals.
“That is why we put him on, to give him a spell. That is the one pleasing thing out of Saturday, to get someone like Ryan Wallace back and a wee bit fitter for next week’s game. Hopefully he can keep improving as he gets game time.”
