Forfar manager Dick Campbell reckons that he has been spoiled during the Christmas week as he has been left with a selection headache of the right kind for his side’s trip to Peterhead.
The Loons may have lost top spot last weekend when they were held at home by Airdrie, but Campbell is in buoyant mood heading to Balmoor as his players are giving him everything.
Campbell explained: “Stranraer got ahead of us only because of goal difference and whilst it is disappointing there was a lot to be positive about.
“We played well and deserved a draw and what pleased me the most was that our three substitutes Omar Kader, Chris Templeman and Gavin Malin – all came on and made terrific contributions.UPDATE: Match postponed because of a frozen pitch“All three of them sent out a message about wanting to play and the other players picked up on it as the pace at training this week has been incredible.
“I am in the great position of having everyone in the squad available apart from Derek Young and everyone working as hard as they can to get a starting jersey.
“I spent part of Christmas trying to work out what my team will be but that is a far better problem to have than having to piece together a side due to injuries and suspension.
“Whatever side I pick I will need to get right as Peterhead have a good core of players and they had an excellent result down at Morton last weekend.
“This game takes us to the halfway stage of the league season and if we get there top or joint top I will be delighted.”
