And dad and manager Dick Campbell is confident of bringing in two more players next week.
The centre-back has arrived from Cowdenbeath for four weeks and is set to play against Stenhousemuir this afternoon.
He played 148 times over five years fro Forfar, before moving to Central Park last year, where he has only featured on 10 occasions.
Dick Campbell said: “I’d like to thank Jimmy Nicholl for making the loan happen. I’m delighted to get him back.
“We’re close to completing another couple of deals, and they will probably happen next week.”
Campbell explained that both men he has lined up can play more than one position.
Mark Baxter and Chris Templeman are doubts for the visit of Stenhousemuir to Station Park.
Campbell said: “We’ve beaten them and they’ve beaten us, so it will be a case of whoever plays best on the day.
“We’re six points off the lead with a game in hand and, with boys coming back from injury and hopefully another couple of signings, I’m looking forward to staying in contention.”
