Dunfermline manager John Potter hopes to add some more new faces to his squad between now and the end of the January transfer window.
And the Pars boss has also revealed that he does not necessarily need to ship players out to make room for any reinforcements as there is still money to spend at East End Park.
Potter has signed Jim Paterson, Andy Barrowman and Kyle McAusland so far, and all three featured at some point in the 2-2 draw at home to Airdrieonians on Saturday.
“Guys that have left were probably our higher earners, so money-wise I’ve not spent what we’ve let go yet if you know what I mean,” he explained.
“The board has told me there’s money there, and I don’t have to get anybody out to get a player in.
“It’s just a case of freshening things up, and trying to get guys out (on loan) to try and play.
“If it doesn’t happen, it doesn’t happen.
“I know I’ve had a million calls a day from agents, but I’m going to be patient.
“I’ve got the ones I want so far and if there’s another couple then that would be great.”
Potter has had to adjust to life as a manager in his own right since the departure of Jim Jefferies, and the new Pars boss who is still looking for his first victory since taking over admitted the wheeling and dealing of the January transfer window has been an eye opener.
“It’s been different for me,” he continued.
“I’ve never really done this side of it and it can be quite frustrating at times trying to get hold of people or players.
“A lot of clubs are after the same type of players and we’re obviously a full-time club so it’s different if you are going for part-time players.
“And being full-time you are obviously competing against clubs in the league above you when it comes to signing players so it can be difficult.
“To be honest though, the three I’ve got so far were the easiest negotiations ever.
“It was a case of me offering them what I could, the three of them said they had better offers elsewhere, but they still said they wanted to come here and play so that’s great.”
