Arbroath FC v East Fife FC. Action from the match. Pictured, Steven Doris (AFC) and Stewart Murdoch (EF).
Arbroath’s Steven Doris could be back in action sooner than thought.
It had been feared Doris was facing 12 weeks out following knee surgery.
But boss Paul Sheerin said the midfielder/striker is a fortnight ahead of schedule.
He said, “He’s expected to be off the crutches in another two weeks and started running by the end of the month which would put him on course to return in early September.”
Less pleasing is the fact defender Alan Rattray won’t undergo a groin operation until July 23 and will not be available until the same time as Doris.
