East Fife manager Gary Naysmith is keeping everyone at Bayview calm despite knowing that the League Two title will be within touching distance if they beat visitors Montrose today.
Naysmith has stuck to the same build-up that has served him and his players well over the course of the season.
He said: “We are just taking things one game at a time as we have always done. As well as working the players hard I like to give them something to focus on after training on a Thursday night. This week was no different.
“I have told them in recent weeks that if we beat Elgin, Annan and Stirling then they will not catch us for a play-off place. Against Queen’s Park it was a case of if they do not win then they will struggle to catch us for the title and last week at Arbroath it was a case of ensuring that we do not allow a local side to enjoy knocking us off course.
“The only difference this week is that I focused on us. Montrose are not in the promotion hunt and are almost safe so rather than concentrating on what we would stop the opposition doing I concentrated on what winning would provide us.
“It will not be easy as Montrose are a side who have improved greatly under Paul Hegarty. Last season we beat them four times and they never scored against us whereas this season it has been different.
“However we are at home and our home record has been great and if we play at the right tempo then our home record will continue to be great.”
Naysmith, Stevie Campbell and Ross Brown have all shaken off knocks to give the Bayview boss a full squad to choose from.
