Aberdeen will be going all out for the win at Tannadice on Saturday, Dons’ boss Derek McInnes has insisted.
The Reds will go level on points with United should they defeat their New Firm rivals, and that is their intention.
McInnes, who believes United are a tougher prospect this season than they were last campaign, said: “It will take an extremely strong performance to get the result we want at Tannadice.
“But we have shown we can take on anybody and we will go down there hoping to win the game.
“That’s what we will be set up to do.
“United are in good form and there is a lot more resilience about them this season. I expect it to be another tough, tight match.
“But if we maintain the standards shown against Hamilton we can come out at the other end of it with another three points.”
