Dunfermline to make third bid to sign Raith Rovers’ John Baird
ByNews reporter
Raith Rovers’ top scorer John Baird may be about to cross the great Fife divide and join Dunfermline.
The Pars made two unsuccessful attempts to land the Rovers frontman during the summer transfer window and will be hoping it is third time lucky when they try again.
Baird (26), who is out of contract at the end of the season, has already banged in nine goals for the Kirkcaldy men in just 22 starts this term.
With Dunfermline struggling to get off the bottom of the SPL, a proven scorer is an obvious target for East End Park boss Jim McIntyre.
There has already been a cross-Kingdom switch since the transfer window opened, with Pars striker Pat Clarke heading to Stark’s Park on loan.
Meanwhile, Hearts under-19 players Jamie Walker and David Smith have extended their loan deals at Raith by another month.
