Jim Leishman is to remain as director of football at Dunfermline following his high-profile appointment as provost of Fife.
The former Pars manager was elected as a Labour councillor for Dunfermline Central in the recent local elections and was then voted into the four-year role as provost by his fellow councillors.
As well as his general work as a councillor, the 58-year-old will now be expected to chair meetings of Fife Council and act as the region’s civic head at ceremonial functions and important occasions.
Leishman said: ”I have spoken with Gavin Masterton and John Yorkston and they are delighted for me and have no problem with me staying in my role with Dunfermline.”
