Cowdenbeath boss Jimmy Nicholl reacted quickly to their shock Challenge Cup defeat by Brechin on Saturday by signing Slovenian striker Danijel Jurisic.
The 25-year-old joins from Austrian club SV Lannach. The frontman had impressed in training and Nicholl said: “He is a great big fellow and something different from the other strikers we have.
“I am flooding the place with strikers after signing Sean Higgins and Craig Sutherland.”
Higgins arrived at Central Park from Stenhousemuir last month with former Blackpool striker Sutherland signing on Friday.
Nicholl is targeting another forward 22- year-old Portuguese player Domingos Agostinho Silveiro who will be training with Cowden this week with a view to a possible signing.
Cowden thought they had clinched a deal for Silveiro towards the end of last season but the move broke down because of a rule that a player cannot play for more than two clubs in one season.
Nicholl, meanwhile, has arranged two full scale practice matches for his squad tonight and Thursday before they travel to play Clyde in the first round of the League Cup on Saturday.
