East Fife manager Gary Naysmith has expressed his disappointment at the resignation of chairman Lee Murray after just over 12 months in charge.
Murray brought the former Scottish internationalist to the club and made him manager when Willie Aitchison was removed from office last autumn.
The Bayview chairman stood by Naysmith when the club were relegated to League Two after losing in the play-offs last May.
Naysmith said: “Lee has been a terrific chairman for me and I am disappointed that he has left.”
He added: “We will just get on with things and concentrate on getting results on the park.”
The kick-off in the second round Petrofac Training Cup tie between Brora Rangers and East Fife on Tuesday has been brought forward to 7.30pm but Naysmith wants the game moved more than that.
He said: “I think it is a great idea to have the Highland League and Lowland League champions in this tournament. However, the regional split and subsequent midweek ties needs to be looked at.”
“We have a 400-mile round trip to make, which will take over nine hours, and for part-time players that is a big ask.
“They will need to take two days off their work to play and we are not in a position to reimburse any lost wages.”
