Cowdenbeath boss secures ‘great’ loan signing from Rangers
ByThe Courier Reporter
Cowdenbeath boss Jimmy Nicholl plans two more loan signings from Premier League clubs after his capture of young Rangers striker Calum Gallagher.
Nicholl saw off competition from a number of other clubs to bring 19-year-old Gallagher to Central Park and hailed the move as a “great” short-term signing for the Fifers.
He said: “We learned late in the day that he was available to go out on loan and it is great for us that he agreed to join us. He has first team experience at Rangers and is well thought of at all levels.
“Looking at Cowdenbeath at the bottom of the table with only one point might have put some players off.
“However, he was enthusiastic about coming to us and I am confident he will contribute to getting ourselves away from the foot of the table.”
Nicholl added: “I wanted to have six or seven points on the board at this point and to be able to enhance the squad with other loan signings.
“But I am now having to improve what we have got and I am hopeful of completing two other loan deals before our match away to Hibs next week.”
