Germany v Scotland: Andrew Robertson ‘gutted’ to miss out

Gordon Strachan has been dealt a double blow ahead of Sunday’s Euro 2016 qualifying clash with world champions Germany after former Dundee United defender Andy Robertson and Ipswich’s Christophe Berra pulled out of the Scotland squad due to injuries.
Robertson was ruled out of the trip to Dortmund after suffering a calf strain while a knee knock rules out former Hearts and Wolves star Berra.
Robertson who left Tannadice for Premier League side Hull in a £2.85 million move last month and was in line to win his third Scotland cap against the Germans hopes to be back for Hull’s next game, after the international break.
He wrote on Twitter: “Gutted to be injured but hopefully back for west ham! Good luck to the boys”.
Strachan had already called up Aberdeen’s Mark Reynolds as cover after Berra was kept behind by Ipswich’s medical team for treatment after sustaining his injury against Derby County at the weekend.
Meanwhile, Germany were beaten 4-2 by Argentina in Dusseldorf in a friendly rematch of the recent World Cup final.
