East Fife boss Gary Naysmith admitted the one point his side took from their home clash against Queen’s Park was pretty much all they deserved.
The Fifers will see the draw as two points dropped at home to Gus MacPherson’s men but Naysmith claimed his side hadn’t been worthy of much more.
The draw means the Fifers have still taken seven points out of a possible nine as Naysmith’s men seem to have turned the corner after a stuttering start to the new campaign.
He said: “I thought we were in control in the first half but even then I felt we were playing too deep.
“It just meant we weren’t really able to get out and put pressure on their centre halfs and make it hard for them.
“When I analyse it I don’t think we deserved any more than a point. A draw was a fair result.
“We weren’t really at the races and I think we’ve done well to come away with a point.”
East Fife started at pace and Kevin Smith and Caolan McAleer had good early chances to break the deadlock.
McAleer sent a fine curling effort past William Muir for East Fife’s first.
But it was the visitors who were next to score when Darren Miller sent an unstoppable strike past Allan Fleming and they went on to take the lead when Paul Woods rifled home.
The Fifers hadn’t done enough to win but did deserve their point and Liam Smith secured that when he sent a composed finish past Muir.
