Teenage defender Stuart Urquhart never had any doubts Dunfermline would deliver the goods, even when there was only 10 minutes left at Forthbank.
The 19-year-old, snapped up from Coventry last month by manager Jim Jefferies, admitted the Fifers had to be patient.
But that was finally rewarded as late strikes from Shaun Byrne and substitute Faissal El Bakhtaoui made sure Uquhart would remember his first start in a Dunfermline jersey for all the right reasons.
While he’s not been at East End Park that long, Urquhart a former Rangers youth player revealed he’s settled in well and looking forward to helping their quest for the championship.
“I’m loving it at the club. I’m loving coming into training every day,” said Urquhart.
“It’s good to be part of a winning team and we are all heading in the right direction.
“Their style of play attracted me. It’s an ambitious young team. The training is fantastic. Dunfermline are a very professional club and a team who are winning games. It’s great to be part of.
“We had to be patient. We started the game brightly and were doing all right, ploughing away. I think the goal was always going to come although it took a while. We knew if we kept passing the ball around the box quickly, isolating players, that we would create chances.
“We just had to dig in and we are delighted. I was happy to be given my first start although personally I think I could have done a wee bit better and collectively as a team we could have done a wee bit better.
“But we will take the three points and move on. We’ve got Ayr United on Friday and are looking forward to it.”
Dunfermline had their share of opportunities in the opening skirmishes through Gozie Ugwu and Michael Moffatt while a header from Stirling central defender Chris Smith hit the side netting.
Pars captain Josh Falkingham was unfortunate to hit the post before Byrne fired into the corner in the 80th minute.
Stirling were then reduced to 10 men following the departure of Chris Wedderburn for a second yellow before El Bakhtbaoui’s close range finished sealed a hard fought win.
“I have got to say that after 20 minutes we dropped our standard,” said Jefferies.
“We dropped the tempo, our passing wasn’t as sharp as it had been. The bottom line is that we should have won that game a lot easier than we did.”
